La gestione termica gioca un ruolo fondamentale nelle applicazioni mediche
Il laser medico o, a seconda della destinazione d’uso, il laser chirurgico, è un dispositivo che, grazie all’eccitazione di un mezzo amplificatore, genera un fascio di fotoni coerenti e monocromatici, identici in termini di fase e lunghezza d’onda. “Laser”, infatti, è l’acronimo del termine inglese “Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation”. Il fascio generato è un’onda elettromagnetica che si distingue per la lunghezza d’onda, l’ampiezza e la durata dell’emissione (impulsi). Queste caratteristiche determinano la potenza del laser e, a seconda delle caratteristiche del tessuto su cui viene applicato, la profondità di assorbimento del laser stesso e le sue applicazioni.
