PT Slim

PT Slim – Thin Aluminum Cooling Plates

Liquid cooling is achieved through a channel printed onto a sheet of Al EN AW 1050 A, which is then brazed onto a second flat sheet.

Designed specifically for the energy storage sector, the PT Slim enables uniform cooling of the surface in contact with the flat sheet while significantly reducing size and weight compared to a traditional liquid cooling plate. This design also helps lower the cost per unit by leveraging economies of scale.

Using a water-glycol mixture, this cold plate takes advantage of the high thermal conductivity typical of the 1050 alloy to cool (or heat) a battery pack or any component requiring uniform temperature maintenance. The channel shape, type of hydraulic connections, and overall dimensions of the cold plate can be customized to meet the specific needs of the end user.

One of the two sheets is formed using a mold that directly imprints the cooling channel shape onto the metal sheet. The junction between the two sheets is achieved through brazing, ensuring the plate’s hydraulic seal without compromising thermal efficiency. This results in a single, solid body that maintains the thermal conductivity of the original materials.

The maximum available dimensions are currently 1,000 x 1,000 mm, with the possibility of evaluating exceptions on a case-by-case basis.
